The Hideaway Country Club

The Hideaway is one of the most prestigious communities in the Coachella Valley, and is situated in the eastern side of La Quinta, with glorious mountain and lake views. The golf courses are designed by Pete Dye and Clive Clark, are regulation length championship courses, and offer 36 holes of play. It's Equity Golf with Limited Membership (only 290 Members per course), no tee times, and includes a professional caddie program, a full service practice range and putting greens.

The elegant 51,000 square foot Spanish Colonial clubhouse offers a spectacular pool and spa, private cabanas, state-of-the-art fitness center, world class tennis complex, luxurious spa and salon, private wine cellar and there are dining rooms available for private parties, and more.

There are many activities and social events, something that will please everyone. Events include Sunday Brunch and special holiday brunches and events, member golf tournaments and competitive championships, golf clinics and instruction, wine-tasting events, cocktail parties, cooking classes, mixers, bridge games and lessons, and much more.

Even the kids will have a blast! The photo (above on the right) shows children sleigh-riding down an imported snow "mountain" on the day after Thanksgiving.

The houses are simply gorgeous and range in price from around a little over one million dollars to several million dollars, with many offered already beautifully furnished, with private pools and spas, wine cellars, luxuriously appointed indoor and outdoor kitchens, and with spectacular views.

Indian Wells is a truly a haven for those who love luxury. While there are some medium-range communties that offer condos, the following list includes communities that range from luxury to ultra-luxury gated communities, many offering spectacular golf courses as well as social clubs. Residents of Indian Wells have many fringe benefits available to them through the city, such as free tickets to the tennis tournaments at the prestigious Indian Wells Tennis Gardens and special rates to golf courses located in Indian Wells, to name just a few. There are also many luxury homes that are not in a development, such as Rancho Palmeras, which has only $50 yearly dues that goes towards a big dinner at St. Germain Restaurant for all residents of that community which is not gated, and there is more info about these communities at the end of this list.

Luxury Homes NOT in a gated community in Indian Wells~

Rancho Palmeras and neighboring communites, all without gates, and generally without HOA dues (although it's $50/yr in Rancho Palmeras, and $250 for the few amazing homes on the Barranca, the wash that extends to the mountains, on the cul-de-sac end of Fairway Drive), offers beautiful desert living in luxurious single family residences on large lots, generally over 10,0000 sq feet, that range in style from desert Contemporary, to Hollywood Regency, to Mid-Century, to Spanish Colonial and more. Characterized by being on flat land (great for walking and biking), towering palm trees, lush & colorful landscaping, with a backdrop of majestic mountains, as well as the friendly people who live there. Fixers can be found offered as low as $319,000 (better act fast for those!) and up to over $2,000,000. Generally the average range is between $500,000 and $900,000 in this market, but prices are expected to go up again! Indian Wells is centrally located in the Coachella Valley and has a Beverly Hills feel to it. Great value here!
